About

I'm a first-generation Christian father. No one showed me how to do this. But God has been faithful to teach me.

There was no model to imitate, no father's playbook in my back pocket. I came from inherited chaos. The kind that doesn't announce itself but seeps into everything: your reactions, your silences, the tension your family can feel but can't name.

For years I did what most men do. I tried harder. Woke up earlier. Read my Bible more. Disciplined my kids with more consistency. Checked every box I could find. And my home still felt tense. My kids still seemed distant. I couldn't figure out why.

Then God began to show me something I couldn't unsee:

Your household doesn't run on your discipline. It runs on your heart. And your heart flows directly from your identity.

I was fathering from survival. From the unblessed boy still trying to prove he was enough. My kids weren't just hearing my words. They were absorbing my presence. And whatever I was operating from had become the spiritual atmosphere of my home.

Fathered First exists to glorify God by pointing fathers back to Him. The most important work a father can do isn't visible. It's the internal renovation. Letting God re-father you so you can father from resurrection, not survival energy.

    What you'll find here

This isn't a platform for polished advice. I'm not teaching from arrival. I'm writing from the arena. You'll find honest reflections on:

    • —The Renovated Heart: what it means to let God replace your heart of stone with a heart of flesh
    • —Death Before Discipline: why trying harder will never produce the father your kids need
    • —Identity Before Instruction: receiving blessing before giving it
    • —The Energy You Bring: how your heart posture shapes everything your family feels
    • —First-Generation Fathers: building without blueprints, breaking inherited chaos

    Who this is for

If you're a Christian father who's pioneering faith in your family with no roadmap. If you feel like a fraud even though you're checking all the boxes. If you're carrying inherited chaos and you refuse to pass it to your kids. If something in your home feels off—tension you can't name, distance you can't explain—even though you're doing everything right.

    This space is for you.

You're not just raising your kids. You're discipling people you'll never meet. And God is the one doing the real work.

Every word here is written by a man in the arena. No AI, no ghostwriters, no polished performance. If the writing is messy, that's because transformation is messy. If it's raw, that's because this work requires honesty. You're not reading content. You're reading what God is teaching me in real time as I'm being re-fathered while fathering.
